  • To trim the underbody panel on your 2013 Honda CR-V for the installation of a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13119, I recommend marking the area that needs to be cut to start with. I have provided a graphic showing where this section is and the dimensions of the area that needs to be removed. • Brake Adjustment Tool for Changing Braking Pressure on Electric Drum Brake
  • It sounds like your four new manual-adjust trailer brakes just need some adjustment to get the appropriate tension on the drum surfaces. Since you hear the magnets humming you know you have correctly made the wiring connections. Electric drum brakes have a star wheel adjuster on their lower ends, close to the magnets. This is shown in the linked video at the 45-second mark and the opening to access the star wheel on the rear of the brake assembly is shown in the included photo. When adjusted...

  • How to Adjust Electric Drum Trailer Brakes with Video
  • On electric drum brakes there is a star wheel at the bottoms of the assemblies that you can turn using a flat head screw driver or brake adjusting tool # W80630. Turning the wheel one way will bring the shoes closer in and turning it the other way pushes the shoes out more. You will adjust the brakes using that wheel until there is a slight but constant drag of the shoe pads on the drum. I have included a link to a video and at about the 4:39 mark our installed begins adjusting the brakes.

The tow dolly features a disc brake system that is superior to electric or hydraulic surge brakes and is the model I most often recommend. Assembling the dolly requires basic hand tools and is uncomplicated if the instructions are closely followed. Someone...

  • Is a Special Tool Required to Un-clip a Factory 7-Way Connector from the Vehicle Wiring
  • There is not special tool required, but these connectors can be stubborn, especially with years of road grime built up. You may be able to make things easier on yourself by removing the receptacle from the rear bumper and giving yourself some slack. You may need to use a screw-driver to pry the locking tab up far enough to get the connector to release, be careful not to break the tab. If you do break the tab, you can wrap the connection in electrical tape to hold, but it will be more difficult...

  • The Performance Tool Infrared Shop Heater - Wall or Ceiling Mount - 1500 Watt # PTW5008 is not rated to heat a specific cubic foot area. The manufacturer says that it warms the area only directly in front of it or under it and will keep you warm about 10 feet away from it. • The Dexter Nev-R-Adjust electric trailer brakes can be manually adjusted. There are a couple teeth of the adjustment wheel that are exposed just under the lever that you referenced. I have attached a photo showing the teeth. You will likely need a tool with a fine edge such as a flat head screw driver for the adjustment wheel on these brakes. A brake adjustment tool may be too thick. Without an initial manual adjustment, it could take a few braking attempts to adjust the brakes. I was...

  • How to Waterproof Trailer Light Connectors on a Nitro Boat Trailer

I would still recommend wrapping any connections with actual electrical tape as well for extra protection. Another option is to use heat shrink tubing which is usually available just about anywhere tools and/or automotive parts are sold. With this you would first place the tubing around one of the wires before making the connection. Then use a butt...
